Colour Palettes At The Turn Of The 20th Century

Medium: Adobe Illustrator

Audience: General public

Supervisors: Dr. Jodie Jenkinson, Prof. Nick Woolridge

Purpose: Although this piece is not medically or biologically related, it demonstrates principles of information design, such as the use of small multiples. A number of paintings from the late 1800s to early 1900s were analyzed for basic colour palettes. These colour palettes were then organized by art movement on a two-page spread. The viewer is invited to explore and make their own comparisons.
